I was one of those kids; covered in dirt, rolling over rocks to see the bugs underneath, floating sticks in streams. I never really outgrew this, though I pretended to be more princess like, wearing makeup and buying the "right" clothes. I am no longer a kid, I am no longer pretending to be someone I am not. I love the outdoors, and I could care less if I get dirty. At my ancient age of fifty, I no longer find myself caring what I look like, and instead find myself in love with nature, and with the world around me.
I love backcountry hiking. The quiet and solitude are perfect after my week working in acute mental health. I love silence. Quiet. Solitude. Even at home I have no music or television, just the sounds of the house settling or a dog's nails clicking on the hardwood floors.
Ah, my beagles. Once there was three, now there is one. I started with a gorgeous female rescue. Karma, who was to be put down that day, but who instead trotted her way to our van and hopped in, and spent the next seven years making our lives better. Then the next two beagles. Mr. B and Betty Boop, My husband stumbled upon a Facebook post, where the two beagles had been left homeless and at risk of being separated. So they came home to us, and gave us the best four best years ever. However, you will have to follow this blog to find out more about our lives, our adventures, and our hikes
